Paul Rosenbloom — Piano, Music Director
Pianist, composer, and arranger, and Artistic Director of Musica Dolce. A Harvard graduate (1974, magna cum laude in composition) with a Master’s and Doctorate from Cornell (1979), he has taught at Cornell and the New England Conservatory, and served as principal pianist with the Rhode Island Philharmonic for nearly three decades.
Karen Van Dyke — Flute, Director of Star Flutes
Made her professional debut at 17 with the Baltimore Symphony. Directed the Stanford Flute Ensemble for 29 years and the Northern California Flute Camp for 31 years. Has performed with the Berkeley and San Jose Symphonies and served as principal flute at the Anchorage Festival of Music. Released the CD Mouvements Perpétuels with guitarist Paul Binkley.
Dr. Robert Hayden — Clarinet
Founding member of Musica Dolce. Has performed with the US Air Force Band and multiple symphonies. Holds degrees from Ithaca College, Catholic University, and the University of Connecticut, and maintains an orthodontic practice in Rhode Island and Block Island.

A Rhode Island–based ensemble, now in its second year performing with Chamber Music on Star Island.
Dr. EmmaLee Holmes-Hicks — Violin
Holds a doctoral degree from SUNY Stony Brook. Principal second violinist of the New Bedford Symphony Orchestra and a member of the Cape Symphony. Faculty at UMass Dartmouth and Birch Creek Summer Performance Center. Also plays traditional fiddle music.
Gregory Tompkins — Violin
B.M. from the University of Rochester’s Eastman School of Music; Master’s from the New England Conservatory. A member of Music Haven since 2013.
Gillian Gallagher — Viola
Studied at Juilliard, earning both bachelor’s and master’s degrees there. Has taught at the Boston University Tanglewood Institute, the Center for Arts Education, and Berklee College of Music.
Philip Boulanger — Cello
Bachelor’s from Boston University and an Artist Certificate from the Krakow Academy of Music. Master’s in Performance and Pedagogy from Northwestern University. Formerly Assistant Principal Cellist of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago.
